Christmas Traditions

I used to make sugar cookies and decorate them every year when younger. Then when I got older I took it over and started with my younger brother and sister. I was disappointed when they outgrew the fun of it...it happens to everyone eventually (except me...it is one of my favorite things to do this time of year!). NOW I have Zoey :)

While I wasn't ready for her to help with the whole process yet. Read the actual baking of the cookies! I was more then willing to give it a try at the decorating. Along the way I remembered a few things I learned what seems like ages ago...

1. ALL kids (apparently no matter their age) decorate and then eat their first cookie :)
2. They make a mess. I probably shouldn't have had Melanie mop the kitchen this morning knowing I was going to decorate cookies with Zoey. Thanks anyway Mel!
3. They always want more then 2 (or whatever number you have determined is a fair number) to eat.
4. The process is a lot more fun the clean up. I would bake a lot more if I had someone to cleanup after me every time.
5. Standing for 2 hours in one place to make said cookies when almost 6 months pregnant...I will have to remember not such a good idea ;) *Okay this one I learned tonight, but it is an important one!

Picking out what cookie to frost - it was a BIG decision

Helping me squeeze the frosting onto the cookie...much easier then her using a knife :)

Cheese!

Down to the serious business of eating :)

The sprinkles taste good too!

Please just one more!!!

Some of our creations - As you can see I got less detailed as we went.
