Vegetable Garden!

Zoey and I are big fans of the Farmer's Market and go every Tuesday morning after library time when the weather is nice enough. This year it has been a bit sporadic with the rain every week that seems to keep coming on Tuesdays :( Along with this though I have enjoyed planting a vegetable garden since we moved back from Long Beach. Our backyard is perfect for this and has great soil that produces enormous plants. Last year at the peak of summer we were getting at least a dozen zucchini and tomatoes every DAY. We had lots to give away! We also grew pumpkins last year that Zoey got a kick out of watching grow then picking.

This year (now that I don't have a a pregnant belly or a crawling little one) our garden is bigger then ever. We have 3 tomato plants (which I have to remember to reinforce as we lost one when it tipped over last year), 3 zucchini, 2 yellow squash, 4 green bean, 4 snap peas (I planted these earlier then the others, but it may get too hot before we get anything good from them), 16 corn, a big pumpkin (think carving), and a sugar pumpkin. We also have basil and cilantro growing as well (although the snails really seem to like those so we will see how long they last). I do it all organically and haven't had any major problems so far.
